Remote Helicopter

I do like Quadcopter but also I do love all kinds of Remote Helicopter. These remote control helicopters are cheaper and also you can get fun just like from a quad-copter. Another cool thing is you can find a model from your favorite helicopter. For example my favorite models are those Chinooks and Russian Mi-24 Crocodile gunships.

Best thing about these RC Helicopters is the price. You can get a small model for even less than $20 from Amazon with free shipping. Also these are better for kids than those expensive Quadcopters. I remember the first one we had a Syma S108G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter which is priced around $25.

It's kind of indoor only copter because of Infrared Control. Also it has Lithium Polymer battery which is good too. It's a beautiful super Cobra model and kids love it too. Pretty solid and it survived so many accidental crashes. It's easy to fly and great for beginners. Even for 6-7 years can managed it after few accidental crashes and bumps on ceiling.

Also they do have a Mini Chinook Rc Helicopter too. I haven't tried that one but it looks really cool and price also around $25. It looks like a nice change for all common heli models. Might be little hard for little kids since it's front/rear drive concept but still it should be fun to fly this little machine.

These days I'm checking about big radio control helicopter which they fly in competitions. I have seen few beautiful models in real life and also in online videos. I don't know how they  made these but I wish I could own one of those beauties. I think it's make by a German guy.

Now check this M-23  model which is even lot bigger.

Blade Quadcopter

Blade Quadcopter

Blade Quadcopter is a term I found while I was searching about the best quadcopter with camera. I'm so new to this and supprised people call that name for these machine. Well I shouldn't be since blades are important part of quadcopters. Anyway one thing I noticed is quadcopters not popular as RC helicopters. Anyway now I'm soo into these beauties so decided to make this blog to vent out everything I feel about flying these machines.

I think RC helicopter is a great starting point for getting to this hobby. Specailly for small kid I think it's the best way. Start with cheaper model you can get even for just $30 and then upgrade to a bigger and more complicated model when you are sure your kid won't crash and destroy the expensive machine. Accidents can happen but you won't want those to happen right away. Also not with an expensive toy like $500 Quadcopter. It's a good idea starting with cheap remote helicopter or a cheap quadcopter model. You can find a cheap Quad for less than $50.

You do know it was in 1908 A four rotor helicopter designed for first time ? That's more than 100 years ago! It was created by a guy called  Louis Breguet. We are not talking about toys here. In 1922, Dr. George de Bothezat and Ivan Jerome developed a six bladed copter which made more than 100 flights. But it could fly only upto 5 meters. You can see that one in photo below.

After that there were plenty of models came out designed by people throughout years,  Convertawings Model A Quadrotor (1958), Bell Boeing Quad TiltRotor which is a huge beast and made for US army. It's not yet in service and still under development.

For years small scale quadcopters have been used for various tasks from military service to commercial use. Recently Amazon has started experimenting the use of these drone to shipping goods to their customers. One great thing about rapid increase of Blade Quadcopters is now you can buy these even for very cheap prices. You can buy a mini copter for less than $30 and High-end quadcoper with camera from $150 - $2000 depending on brand and model.

If you want to buy one then make sure you buy the right model for you. But there are also few think you havet to keep in your mind if you are flying these for first time or new to this.

  •  think wind is the worst enemy of blade quadcopter. windless weather is the time train or even have some fun flying these drones.
  • Next thing is Hovering. This is something not easy but you have to master. You have to learn how to do this.
  • Keep in mind to turn off the throttle if you crash land. This will help your copter to suffer less damage and you will able to get it fix without trouble.
  • Another thing to keep in mind is stay in range. You don't want your loose your copter by flying out of range. This is another reason why you have to learn how to shut off throttle fast.
  • Flying time is important too. smaller nano quads only can fly around 5 -10 minutes max. Also make sure you know the max time and land your machine before time runout.
There are lots of things to consider when you are going to buy a quad or a quadcopter with camera. What I have listed blow probably and the basic and most simple stuff you have consider.

  • Price is one of the most important things you have to consider. You might want one with all features or quadcopter with camera. Smaller budget means features and quality is low.
  • Your experience is another important factor. If do not have any flying hours done before then better for for a cheaper model and upgrade later when you master who to fly these things.
  • Not all quads have cameras. Only few are can categorize as quadcopter with camera and Even among those only few expensive models give you high quality HD videos.
  • Make sure you know all about local laws. Because in some countries it's not allow to fly these remote copyters and even in many other countries there are restrictions.
